JWA has spent 1999 & 2000, performing two shows a day, six days a week, at Country Tonite in Branson, Missouri.  His duties included excerpts from his regular stand-up routine, as well as hilarious musical impersonations of Shania Twain, and "The King", Elvis Presley.

"I enjoyed the chance to bring my original humor to this type of venue, and I had fun exploring my ability to play characters," says the cowboy comic.

"It was incredible to be part of such a talented team. The challenge was to be funny while keeping the jokes squeaky clean, not even the slightest innuendo was allowed, to maintain a standard of entertainment that was suited for the entire family," says Austin.

This was his first time working in a choreographed production, and also to perform as a vocalist in the shows finale, with the entire cast.

In both years at the theatre, Austin wrote comedy skits for the annual Country Tonite Christmas Show.

"In '99, Minnie Pearl got a make-over, and Randolph the redneck plumber saved Christmas by rescuing Santa’s computer from the Y2K bug," recalls John Wesley. "In 2000, I wrote a satire of Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol, involving the election and many other topical references."

"When I was putting together the sketches, I used a combination of parodies, one-liners, and I gave the entire cast the opportunity to be in the comedy spotlight!"
